The SOGT executive is responsible for securing speakers and funding for the talks as well as other organizational roles. Each year, the president retires, the members move up and a new junior member is nominated by the remaining members. This new member can be suggested by the executive, but we also welcome interest from any SOGT members interested in participating.

William Osler Health System
Dr. Gronau completed both medical school and residency at the University of Toronto. After graduation, she spent 8 years in New York, and was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the New York University School of Medicine. Since returning to Canada in 2011, she has been in practice at the William Osler Health System, Brampton Civic site. In addition to a very busy general Ob/Gyn practice, she has special interests in colposcopy and medical education.

Dr. Samuel Ko
The Scarborough and Rouge Hospital
Dr. Samuel Ko is an Obstetrician-Gynaecologist at The Scarborough Hospital. His practice involves general obstetrics and gynaecology, with interests in colposcopy. He and his office staff provide care in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.Sc.Phm.) and practiced pharmacy for two years before entering medical school at Queen’s University in Kingston. He returned home to Toronto to complete his Obstetrics and Gynaecology residency. Dr. Samuel Ko grew up in Scarborough, and his family still resides here.

Dr. Lauren Jain received her undergraduate medical training at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After completing her residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Toronto, she completed a fellowship in Advanced Gynecologic Surgery at St. Michael’s Hospital. She recently joined the team at St. Joseph’s Health Center in West Toronto, where she practices general obstetrics & gynecology. She has special interests in vulvar disease, early pregnancy complications and medical education.

Dr. Sony Sierra
Womens College Hospital / TRIO Fertility
Dr. Sony Sierra has been a specialist in infertility and recurrent miscarriage since 2006. In addition to her fertility practice at TRIO, she runs the Recurrent Pregnancy Loss program at TRIO. This program continues to be the largest program in Canada focused on the investigation and management of recurrent pregnancy loss. Dr. Sierra is also an Associate Physician at Women’s College Hospital where she specializes in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Toronto.

John Snelgrove is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine obstetrician at Mount Sinai Hospital. He is a Clinician Investigator at Sinai Health System and the University of Toronto.
