Doctor Laberge is currently professor in the Department of Obstetrics-Gynecology at Laval University and chief of Gynecology at the CHUL. Doctor Laberge’s interests are in gynecology, mainly laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures and related clinical teaching and research. Doctor Laberge has written numerous articles and done many clinical courses and preceptorships in endoscopic surgery across Canada, the United States and Europe since 1991. Since 2007 Dr Laberge is consultant for Best Doctors of Canada TM.
He has been a member of a number of SOGC clinical committees and he co-chaired the Annual Clinical Meeting of SOGC in Quebec City 1996 and 2005, and in Montreal in 2000. Doctor Laberge was also president of the Quebec Association of Obstetricians & Gynecologists from 2004 to 2006. Doctor Laberge is also interested in the production of self-learning interactive multimedia computer programs in obstetrics & gynecology. His program called “Ectopic Pregnancy” won first prize of the Association of Professors in Obstetrics & Gynecology in Toronto in 1995. Together with the late Dr. Jay Cooper, he won the Robert B. Hunt award for best paper in the Journal of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists in 2003. He is currently Director of the Laval University fellowship in advanced laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.
